Reid B. Brown, M.D.
Dr. Reid Brown is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in total joint replacement, hip and knee reconstruction, and complex revision surgery. He served as the Director of Total Joint Replacement at Baptist Health Louisville from 2010-2025, where he led advancements in minimally invasive and anterior approach hip replacement techniques.
Dr. Brown earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Cincinnati. He went on to complete a prestigious Joint Reconstruction Fellowship at the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada, where he trained in advanced techniques for complex hip and knee replacement procedures.
In addition to his clinical leadership roles, Dr. Brown is a consultant for Smith & Nephew Orthopaedics, contributing to national and international education on hip and knee revision systems. He is also an Associate Professor at the University of Kentucky School of Medicine and Bellarmine University’s School of Physical Therapy, where he mentors the next generation of orthopaedic professionals.
Dr. Brown’s research and presentations focus on improving outcomes in hip and knee arthroplasty, including studies on pain management, revision implant technology, and surgical innovations in anterior hip approaches. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Medical Association.
